Deepika Janiyani Thadani from Nagpur wins the title of “Mrs. Inspirational”

The title of the post says it all, but still there is a lot to know about the story.

With a wish to make a difference in society, I participated in “Mrs. West India – Empress of West India 2020” organized by DIVA Pageants and won the title of “Mrs. Inspirational”. I was also one of the top 10 finalists. I always wanted to inspire people around me to achieve their dreams, especially women around – and this title was exactly what justifies me.

Coming from a conservative background where women were not allowed to study and work – I broke all the protocols and am currently working as a Senior Technical Consultant at Nagpur’s top MNC Perficient and poetess/writer by hobby. Recently I co-authored an anthology on different states of India “India Through Our Eyes” which is now selected in “Indian Books of Records”.

I believe that all this wouldn’t have been possible without the support of my Mother in all stages of my life and that’s what made me realize that nothing is impossible for a woman when she decides to achieve something be it for herself or her family.

However, this pageantry journey wouldn’t have been possible without the support of my husband CS Bhavesh Thadani, my in-law’s family, my maternal family, teachers/mentors, friends, colleague, and team members. All these people were constantly supporting my back and I am thankful to them all.

On behalf of DIVA Pageants, Alila Diwa hosted the finale of Mrs. West India Empress of West India 2020 – Season 3 on November 28 in Goa. 47 married beauties representing the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Goa participated in this competition, which was divided into two groups, Silver for the age group till 35 years and Gold for the age group of greater than 35.

When I had decided to go for Pageantry, I did a lot of research and then decided to go for “Diva Pageants” after literally stalking the profiles of previous participants. The journey and the opportunities that were given to DIVA winners and subtitle holders by the DIVA team is what inspired me to choose this pageant.

It was an amazing experience working with the DIVA team, Karl & Anjana Mascarenhas – the owners of this Pageant are game-changers who transform the lives of Married women and show them how to make their invisible crown visible. Anjana Ma’am is a Fairy Godmother from Cinderella – who changes Cinderella’s life and makes her a Queen and Karl Sir is an ocean of knowledge, humour, and care.

Besides this Farha Anwar, Pooja Singh, Neha Chauhan, Shradha Ramdas, Mrunali Wankhade were always there to guide the participants from the day of the auditions to the final event. DIVA team also organized a lot of online sessions during the lockdown to groom and guide all the ladies – which are available on the MRS WEST INDIA – Empress of West India page.

Vinay Aranha, MD, The Rosary Foundation presented this grand event, in association with Jehangir OraCare Dental Centre. The Chief Guest for the evening was Hon’ble Minister Shripad Yesso Naik, Union Minister of State. Mahek Chahal (actress), Bruna Abdullah (actress), Suhani Mendonsa (events), Gwen Dee (designer), Vivek Mendonsa (Lawrence & Mayo) were the eminent judges for the evening. Aman Yatan Verma hosted this Grand Show.

A lot of you may have the question what about the after journey? Personally due to covid & some health issues I didn’t opted for the various opportunities that were available, but Anjana Ma’am never leaves your hand and that’s how I am one of the “Brand Ambassador” for Grehlakshmi Mrs India. Going forward I want to inspire people around me to live their dreams, fight against body shaming, colorism, and all the weird norms of society and make everyone realize that “Beauty is only how they see themselves” – no one else matters.
