Let me walk a mile without you – Voice of Women

As rightly said by Melinda Gates, “A woman with a voice is, by definition, a strong woman.”

“Let me walk a mile without you” is based on this voice. Its a poem where the woman of the society, wants to say to the men of the society, that why she wants to work/live as equal to the men. Here the men can be her father / husband, according to the phase of life in which she is.

The poem goes as follows,

Along with sharing the path of life with you,
Let me walk a mile without you...

I know the path of life is not easy,
But the lessons important for living, are not learned, from tasks that are easy...

I know according to you, our family, should be my priority,
And in all this, I would never ever neglect something that is not just mine, but our priority...

Even I want to work out, and plan, our way,
So that I can trust and understand your decisions, and think, your way...

Even I want to know, how budgets up and down work,
So that I can know, why, what, troubles your work...

Even I want to come home, late, some days,
So that I can understand how difficult, for you, are, such days...

Someday when you are not around,
I don't want our family to wonder what now; instead I want them to keep their trust, since I am around...

When I ask I want to do all this, it doesn't mean I want to walk ahead, of the way,
Life's journey would not have its meaning, if you are not aside, with me, on this way...

I just want to share, equally, this world with you,
Along with sharing the path of life with you, just let me walk a mile without you...
